Cookie notice

Refusing is exactly as easy as accepting, and costs you nothing.

Last updated

On your first visit you are asked once. Accept and Reject are the same size, the same weight, the same typeface and on the same level — because under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations they have to be, and because a refusal that is harder to click than an acceptance is not a choice.

What is set before you choose

Only what is strictly necessary to deliver the service you asked for. These are exempt from the consent requirement and are set whatever you choose:

NamePurposeTypeExpires
wc_sessionKeeps you signed in between pagesFirst-party cookieWhen you sign out, or 30 days
wc_csrfProtects forms against cross-site request forgeryFirst-party cookieEnd of session
whichcable.cookie-choiceRemembers the choice you made here, so you are not asked againLocal storageUntil you clear it

What is set only if you accept

Measurement of how the site is used — which pages are read, where people stop reading, whether the where-to-look cards get printed. It is aggregated, and it is not used for advertising.

NamePurposeExpires
wc_measureCounts page views and section reach, without identifying you14 months

What is never set

  • Advertising cookies of any kind.
  • Third-party tracking pixels, social plugins and share buttons.
  • Cross-site profiling, fingerprinting, or anything sold on to a data broker.

Changing your mind

Clear this site’s storage in your browser and the question is asked again on your next visit. You can also tell us at support@charlycomtex.shop and we will deal with it. Refusing has no effect on anything the service does for you.
